Mishablu Marilyn

Well, we HAD a gorgeous little girl kitten available for adoption.  We are happy to announce that Marilyn is going to live with a wonderful family with another Mishablu cat.  She will be living right here in the St. Louis area with Khan who was adopted last summer.  There will be a lot of silliness going on in this household as Russians are extremely playful.  We suspect she is planning the mischief she and Khan will get into in the photo below...

Q and A

We thought we would address a recurring question from prospective "parents" here.
Question:  We don't really need a show quality Russian Blue so could we have one that isn't?
Answer:  So far, we could show every single kitten we have had. And we believe you should want a show quality cat because we stress three attributes - in this order:

1)  Health  Excellent health from ancestors who have not had any health problems (going back several generations.)
2)  Disposition  Sweet disposition with an affinity for bonding with their humans.  Our cats could never be shown without this type of personality as it requires being around 200 strange cats in a noisy hall and being handled by 8 different strangers while being gawked at by 30 more!
3)  Beauty  Lastly, long-boned elegant bodies, thick silvery fur and big green eyes.

More Kitten Photos

The kittens and Amy visited my parents with us this weekend.  A great time was had by all (except for the silk plant) and serious naps were in order afterward. Now that the kittens are eight weeks old, Amy is to the point where she has pretty much given up on attempting to control her kids.

Amy's Two Boys Plus One

Amy's two little boy kittens have grown up remarkably and acquired a "sister."  Amy happily accepted a mixed breed white kitten into her brood when the kitten's mother had difficulties feeding her.  You can see the three of them nursing in the photo below.  All three kittens are around eight weeks old at this time and get along very well.

Harry and My Shoe

I have no idea why little Harry loves this shoe so much!  He can be found napping in it at least once a day.

William is Happier in a Kleenex Box

There is no accounting for taste in sleeping quarters but the boys definitely differ in their choices for a napping spot.

Harry is Handsome on Leopard

Probably the closest Harry will get to meeting his wild cousin is this faux fur bean bag bed.  He does have a strip of mink that he seems rather attached to though.

Everyone Loves Napping Together

These little guys go non-stop for about 45 minutes and then sleep soundly for a few hours.  Unfortunately, this schedule is true 24/7 and the fact that they share our bedroom with us doesn't seem to make any difference.
