Mishablu News - July 2008

Welcome to our Russian Blue website.  Mishablu Cattery only breeds CFA Registered Russian Blue cats for showing.  We do, however, adopt out those kittens whom we decide not to show.  Some important things to know about us:

    None of our Russian Blue kittens or cats are ever kept in cages.  They live in our home and are treated as members of the family.         

    We never inbreed: our first concern is health, then personality and lastly appearance.

      We do not ship our cats and require that they be kept indoors at all times and not declawed.

Jen and Sam Fly to Houston

Jen and Sam met their new cat dad at the airport in St. Louis today so they could fly home to their new family in Houston.  Airport regulations can require that the kittens be removed from their carrier and held by their owner as he goes through the metal detector.  I know how slippery these little girls can be so I went shopping for halters.  Really, none of the halters fit except for these two cute little pink ones!  Sam sports a sequined butterfly and Jen (the tomboy) has the more classic rhinestone buckle.

Repurposing the Environment

Russian Blues tend to adapt their environment to suit themselves.  This is a toy now, as we gave up trying to put any waste paper in it.  There is usually a kitten willing to roll it around from the outside while the kids inside get a good ride. Or, it's great for playing with toy mice as this little guy is about to demonstrate.  The other two are waiting for a ride and watching the mayhem in another part of the bedroom.

The Great Escapes

We attempt to keep our kittens in the bedroom but at about 6 weeks, not even a child gate can stop them.  They do manage to look guilty though!
